Some jobs are quite a distance to travel to (which isn’t a problem), but it reduces the amount of hours that can be worked in one day if you have to consider travelling time.
Therefore, I’m giving Travelodge a whirl on the long distance jobs.
Having decided to do this it is then amazing to discover how many Travelodges don’t have parking! So the closest Travelodge to the job isn’t always an option.
UPDATE!!! – The Travelodge idea works a treat! Had a great stay at Wellingborough although it did have the shallowest bath known to man.
Be doing that again though!
Tip for today is to avoid the M1 road works around junction 13. Adding around 1.5 hours to the journey time.
Avoid at all costs. Fly if you have to.
I am approaching the end of what has been a hugely enjoyable job.
The house I am decorating has transformed itself from a building site into a lovely, comfortable home.
It’s been a whole house job. On my first day, the builder had just finished the restructuring, the plasterer had completed his sections and the tiler was part done in the bathrooms and kitchen. Appliances had started to arrive and they were waiting in their plastic wrappers.
A few short weeks ago it was hard to imagine anyone living in the house but bit by bit it has started to come together and now, the only items left to do are the carpets.
Sadly, my final day is tomorrow, when I shall be painting the doors before handing back my key, so I will never see the fully finished house.
However, it will be a fabulous house and home.
More specifically, Avoid Wobbly Ladders!
Is that painting job really worth breaking your arms or legs or both?!
Ladders and step ladders should be strong and robust. When you stand on them they should not move or wobble. If they do, do not climb them as they can twist underneath you and you risk falling and serious injury.
If you climb your ladders whilst carrying a pot of paint & brush you won’t have a free hand to balance yourself.
Check your ladders before climbing and avoid unnecessary injuries.
The thought of having to move all your furniture, then clean up where it was, then cover it all before FINALLY being able to start painting, in between doing all the usual domestic duties, is enough to put anyone off tackling that room that is starting to look faded.
THAT’S WHY YOU CALL US!

Make a design feature of any wall by adding a wall mural. You could add a tree with branches poking through a window, a boat gliding across a lake or a strong pattern in a frame – all painted directly onto the wall.
The only limit is your imagination.
Our painting skills don’t end with slapping on the emulsion! We can also draw and paint cartoon characters, on their own or in a setting, on any wall as a fun addition the a child’s bedroom or play area.
We are just putting the finishing touches to the new website. Looking good though – we think!
